A phenomenal song was recently released between the magnificent musicians, Die Heuwels Fantasties and Tresor.

We are extremely proud of the amazing local music collaboration that’s available on In Concert, which we did in partnership with MTN South Africa.

The phenomenal collaboration between local artists, Die Heuwels Fantasties and Tresor (an artist originally from the DRC, who now lives in Durban) is not-to-be-missed. The song is the ultimate mashup of Afro Pop and Afrikaans ― and the music video has been launched exclusively on In Concert and MTN Play (which gives you the latest, hottest mobile content straight to your phone).

This beautiful track, titled “Shangri-la”, is a mix of Swahili, Afrikaans and English all rolled into one song, with an epic music video to boot, which showcases some of the most gorgeous locations that South Africa has to offer. As music is a universal language, it was just the thing to bring to life how In Concert is providing a local platform for local artists to distribute their music content. And that is just the start.

In Concert is a must-have to add to your music service collection, as it brings together a diverse group of music artists and genres, all in one place. You’ll find a bit of everything on the In Concert: Rihanna, The Beatles… music from the US, UK, Europe, Africa and more. Our goal is to ensure that more local music content is available on the platform to support the local music industry.

During the COVID-19 Pandemic, live concerts for music artists have been restricted. In Concert has given artists another way to distribute their content to local fans. Obviously during a global pandemic, everyone in the music industry ― from band members to sound engineers ― has been struggling for work. An entire industry has been put on pause due to a pandemic. Our belief has always been that ‘the show must go on’ and with In Concert, there is a new energy in the music industry. We are proud that we were one of the supporting acts that helped bring this to life.

We are excited about several new additions to the content already available on the platform. In the next few weeks, we will be adding the ‘Undiscovered’ section, which allows you to listen to new artists first. There will also be ‘Tales From The Lounge’, which gives you a sneak peek into bands performing in a studio setup. We are also always buying in unmissable content and are in negotiations to distribute some of South Africa’s most iconic concerts on In Concert, giving you the opportunity to listen to some of your favourite (often, annual) concerts… without ever leaving the comfort of your home.

As showcased by the collaboration with Tresor and Die Heuwels Fantasties, what really sets In Concert apart is the diverse music mix and local collabs. There’s already something planned for Women’s Day in August, plus big names in the music industry launching their own new shows in September. Of course, if you have choice paralysis and just want to listen by genre ― to Rock, for example, playing in the background… while you’re busy doing ‘life things’ ― you have that option too. There’s old music, new music, collabs, local content and more… for just R3 a day to subscribe.

Our engagements with Anthonie van der Walt, Senior Manager of Video at MTN South Africa, about the collaboration have always been positive and met with much excitement. Anthonie believes that In Concert is the ultimate platform to support the local music industry and will help the MTN family to grow at the same time. Moreover, he is passionate about the local music scene and In Concert allows him and the MTN team to encourage other local artist collaborations. In our meetings with him, he said that he loved the mix of music that In Concert had on its global platform and knew that it was a great opportunity to offer it up to local music lovers… and the collab between Tresor and Die Heuwels Fantasties was the ultimate way to do that. We all look forward to many more amazing local music collaborations in the future.
